Getting to know your next City Council Member
Benjy is a problem solver and a lover of Buffalo.
He solves problems with his 3 year old toddler everyday,
He works to protect the rights of those most in need in our society daily,
He resolves some of the largest problems of our everyday county issues by creating partnerships and furthering a community based approach to criminal justice.

He wants to work for the City of Buffalo and take his extensive problem solving ability and kind hearted humorous approach to the council and to advocate for all to be protected and heard here in town.

He and his family are betting on Buffalo for the future and work everyday to help out in town. Benjy is a Juvenile Public Defender assisting kiddos accused of delinquencies in a holistic way to ensure the better safer future for Buffalo. He also advocates for children involved in the child protective services to ensure that even the smallest voices are heard. He also works for those struggling with addiction in our restorative justice oriented treatment courts. He's on numerous committees in town and nationally, the Wright County Opioid Settlement Committee, the Dosage Probation Committee, The 10th District Public Defender Wellness Committee, and the statewide Public Defender Wellness Committee. He's the ABA Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs (CoLAP) Liaison and is a nationally sought after speaker on lawyer sustainability and wellness and traumatic effects of practicing law in order to make the practice more sustainable. He's practiced law for 9 years and was an award winning professional musical theatre artist before that. He has a double BA with honors from the University of Iowa in Theatre Arts and Music, and graduated cum laude from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School.
